Art Docent Program

Students creating finger paintings “Vase with Flowers” by the artist Georges Rouault

The Art Docent Program helps students develop fine art appreciation while learning about some of the world’s greatest artists and their masterpieces.

It is also designed to bring out the “artist in us all” as the students create their own special works of art!  In this very successful and rewarding program, students are encouraged to explore different art techniques and mediums, based on what they learn about the style of a particular artist.

Each classroom has their own Art Docent. He or she is a parent volunteer who presents a lesson based on a specific artist and one or more of the artist’s works. We are blessed in having parents who share a wide variety of life experiences and varying perspectives in our Art Docent Program. It is a favorite with our students!
