2nd Graders enjoy learning the game and helping each other. |
Join the Chess Club (Mondays after school 2:30 pm – 3:40 pm) to play chess games, solve chess puzzles, learn chess strategies, and get all the tools to excel in the game of chess.
Chess is a universal learning tool; it offers a rare combination of learning and playing and is known to enhance the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in young children that later can be applied in math, science, and everyday life.
The goal of the Chess Club is to create a fun and challenging environment for developing these important academic skills.
Chess Club is open to students in grades 1 – 8. It is designed for the beginner and the well-seasoned player. The cost is $72 for 8 classes. Chess Star Company staff (instructor with assistants) will be leading the club.
