Mrs. Burns has been teaching at Immaculate Conception & Our Lady of Perpetual Help School for 16 years. She taught in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, and spent seven years at Our Lady of the Lake School in Seattle prior to joining our faculty. She earned her BA from the University of Washington and her teaching credentials from Seattle University. Mrs. Burns has taken continuing education courses through Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University. “Each child needs a secure and stimulating environment in order to mature into the spiritual, social, and intellectual person he or she can become. I strive every day to make that a reality. I love the quote from Edith Hamilton that reads, 'It has always seemed strange to me that in our endless discussions about education so little stress is layed on the pleasure of becoming an educated person, the enormous interest it adds to life. To be able to be caught up into the world of thought - that is to be educated.” Lorraine Burns |
