Mr. Doug Spencer

Mr. Spencer is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education.  He has his Washington State Teaching Certificate in music for grades K-12 and has taught music for over 40 years.

His goals are to prepare his students to become proficient in playing the musical instrument of their choice, while introducing them to a variety of sacred and secular music literature for a lifetime of music appreciation and enjoyment.

Mr. Spencer is well known in our area, as he has taught hundreds of students an appreciation for music and the ability to play an instrument with confidence and skill.

“I have spent a lifetime teaching music to students who sometimes are leery or afraid. After they get over their nervousness, they are amazed at what they can do. Few things are more satisfying than listening to a group of instrumentalists come together and play well.
