Art Fair

All students are encouraged throughout the year to create art either in class or at home for submission to the annual Art Fair in May. All media are accepted. In the past, students have entered sketches, watercolor paintings, oil pastels, clay creations, photographs, bead work, jewelry, and stained glass pieces.

Math Olympiad

Math Olympiad is a competition for 5th-8th grade students. From November through March, students meet once each month and work independently to answer five challenging questions. Scores are accumulated individually and compared to other students throughout the nation. Participation in the Math Olympiad helps students expand their math skills and learn to look at difficult math problems in a variety of ways. Email Terri Stanton for more information.

Science Fair

The Science Fair occurs annually in the spring, and is open to all students (mandatory for 7th and 8th graders). The 2012 Science Fair, with 152 entries, was judged by scientists from the University of Washington. This very qualified group spent a day meeting with our students to discuss their projects and experiments. They were impressed with the caliber of work and our students' ability to respond articulately about their learning process and outcomes!

Spring Musical

All 4th through 8th grade students have the opportunity to participate in our Spring Musical. Some past productions include Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz and Annie Jr..

Casting is open to all 4th through 8th grade students, and stage crew positions are open to 7th and 8th graders. Rehearsals take place in the early spring and are scheduled before or after the school day.

Speech Team

The speech team, open to students in grades 5-8, competes in tournaments with other schools in the Puget Sound region. Speech team coaches are parents and community members who help students practice oral passages, read storybooks, or write and deliver their own informational and/or persuasive speeches. Competitions are held at Bishop Blanchet, Eastside Catholic, and Seattle Prep scholarships are awarded to the top performers at these tournaments.
